Illustration for How to Build a LoloBuy Product Shortlist

Original illustration · Not a purchase or QC photo.

Use one record per option

Record the category, full URL, product identifier, seller when shown, color, model or version, size and quantity. Add the date you checked the destination. If the same listing contains two options you are considering, create two records linked to that same address.

Keep a short “why this one” note: a certain measurement, a pocket layout or a particular color. It makes it easier to remove a weaker candidate later without reopening every page.

Compare like with like

Separate the current item price from China-side delivery and international shipping. A lower item price can still lead to a more expensive parcel when packaging or dimensions differ. Do not put an unquoted international shipping figure into a confirmed-total column.

Turn unknowns into actions

A blank field can mean “not checked”, “not supplied” or “not applicable”. Use an explicit note instead. “Need actual chest width” is more useful than a question mark; “seller page says cotton blend” is clearer than assuming a material from a photograph.

If a missing fact determines whether you would buy, leave the candidate undecided until you obtain it. If the provider cannot answer, remove that candidate or accept the uncertainty consciously. The spreadsheet cannot resolve every difference between listings.

Make a final snapshot

When you select an item, save the current URL and the visible option you will order. Recheck price, quantity and seller information immediately before submission. Delete or mark rejected candidates so an old link does not become an accidental order later.

The shortlist stays useful at the warehouse stage: compare the received size label, color and details with your original record. If something differs, reference the exact field rather than asking support to infer your intention from a general product name.

Keep this checklist

  • One row per candidate option.
  • Separate confirmed costs from estimates.
  • Give each missing fact a next action.
  • Keep a dated selection for the warehouse comparison.
